Monday night stabbing in Schenectady

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – The Schenectady Police Department is currently investigating a stabbing that took place Monday night.

Schenectady Police responded to a report of a stabbing around 9:10 p.m. Monday at the Imperial Motel located at 927 State St.

Police found a man who had been stabbed in the neck. The victim was treated on the scene by the Schenectady Fire Department and was transported to Albany Medical Center where his current condition is unknown.

A suspect has not been taken into custody and was described as a black male who was wearing a dark colored winter jacket. He was last seen fleeing the scene in an unknown direction on State Street.

Anyone with information on the stabbing is asked to call Schenectady Police.
