MOREAU, N.Y. –  The Moreau mother who is accused of hiring exotic dancers for her son's 16th birthday party appeared in Moreau Town Court on Thursday.

Judy Viger was offered a plea deal but her case was adjourned until November 7th.

The Moreau mother's attorney said she needed more time to consider a plea deal, although she has already rejected a number of plea deals in the past.

She's facing five misdemeanor counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child for allegedly hiring strippers for her son's 16th birthday party at a local bowling alley in November 2012.

Viger is accused of damaging the physical, mental or moral welfare of the children at that party by exposing them to strippers who performed lap dances.

If Thursday's plea deal was accepted, it would have resulted in the criminal charges being dropped if Viger stayed out of trouble for six months, took a parenting class and met other unspecified conditions.

The mother's attorney says his client hired the women to sing "Happy Birthday" to her son and his friends while wearing bikinis. The attorney maintains that Viger didn't intend to have the women perform.

While the case is adjourned for one week, a plea deal is still possible.
