ALBANY, N.Y. – The new bishop of the Albany Catholic Diocese celebrated his first Easter masses as bishop.

During Holy Week, Bishop Edward Scharfenberger celebrated Holy Thursday Mass, Good Friday Service, the Easter Vigil on Saturday and Easter Sunday services at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception.

“I feel very much like I’m in a parish back home, in my home diocese, little larger congregation, but the same joy I always feel on an Easter Sunday,” said Bishop Scharfenberger.
