ALBANY, N.Y. – Attorney General Eric Schneiderman says he has launched a new investment fraud prevention program in New York State targeted for seniors.
"Smart Seniors, Smart Investors – Don't Get Scammed" is a new program to help seniors identify potential scams and rip-offs before becoming a victim.
The program will focus on the warning signs of investment and financial fraud that targets older New York residents.
Schneiderman kicked off the program on Wednesday with a community forum for seniors in New York City. This was the first of 11 events for the program which will happen throughout the state in the coming weeks.
