NORTH ADAMS, Mass., - North Adams Police have announced that radio towers on top of Florida Mountain have collapsed due to high winds and heavy rain.

Authorities posted on the North Adams Police Facebook page around 8:45 a.m. on Sunday, stating that the collapsed towers "resulted in the loss or significant interruption of cell and internet services in the North Adams area."

Those in need of assistance and have no cell service and reminded to use your home phone to make any calls.

The North Adams Police Department said that they will also be monitoring their Facebook page if someone is unable to contact Public Safety via telephone.

Residents are reminded to tune their radios to WNAW 1230 AM or watch Channel 22, if you are a Time Warner Cable customer for news and updates.

It is unknown how long it will take to correct this problem.
