NORTH ADAMS, Mass. – Due to high winds and heavy rain, two radio towers on top of Florida Mountain in North Adams Mass. have collapsed.

Around 8:45a.m. Sunday North Adams Police stated on Facebook the towers collapsing has "resulted in the loss or significant interruption of cell and internet services in the North Adams area."

Sgt. James Burdick of North Adams Police stated you are able to contact police via Gmail, land line phone, or Facebook. Police will be checking these mediums in case someone is unable to contact Public Safety by phone.

Residents are reminded to tune their radios to WNAW 1230 AM or watch Channel 22, if you are a Time Warner Cable customer for news and updates.

According to a North Adams dispatch, as of this morning there is limited cell phone service and crews are still working on a temporary fix.

Service is expected to be returned sometime Monday. Once a temporary tower is set work to develop a more permanent fix will begin.
