The Occupy movement in Albany is now at the end of day three, and a few dozen people are still 'living' in Academy Park downtown.

Because they're sleeping overnight, protestors have everything from tents to water, and even entertainment.

The group says it has quickly become a functional, cohesive family.

On Sunday afternoon, some protestors were still holding signs and waving to traffic trying to get their message across. Others could be seen holding down the fort, doing things like picking up trash, and making lists of items protestors need to keep the movement organized.

Juliet Shen, a SUNY Albany student, "The top one percent, they have become a bit detached from reality, and I feel like if they just open their eyes and see that there's people that are suffering, and can't afford to go to school, cant afford to go to a single class, if they just spread the wealth just a tiny bit, it would really help."

Eric Egnor of Albany has a 2-year-old son he's worried about. "I'm not saying there's anyone person to blame, or any one corporation to blame, but when people are getting bailed out, and other people are eating out of a garbage can, there's just something, something is not right and something needs to change. I want my son to have some kind of a future. But right now, it looks pretty bleak," he said.

Some protestors say they truly believe participating in the Occupy Albany movement will make a difference.

However, the peaceful protest took a bit of a turn for a short time Saturday night.

Video from the Times Union shows what appears to be a minor altercation between an angry onlooker and a protestor.

In a statement Sunday, Occupy Albany said:

"Occupy Albany wishes to clarify the details of an incident that occurred at Academy Park in Albany last night.

"A minor altercation occurred between an apparently intoxicated veteran and a protester holding a sign that read 'economic justice now.' The veteran forcefully removed the sign from the protesters hands.

"State Police acted effectively to ensure that the incident remained minor. Occupy Albany thanks the officers involved for their skillful handling of the situation, and for their professionalism and courtesy. This minor disturbance was over in minutes. It ended with the protester declining to press charges, accepting the apology of the man who had taken it, and shaking his hand while wishing him the best of luck in his return to civilian life.

"Occupy Albany remains committed to peaceful protest and to being good neighbors. We understand and accept that the discussion of important issues can lead to passionate debate. We welcome those discussions within the framework of respect and nonviolence."
