ALBANY, N.Y. – Monday proved to be a very early morning for local Paul McCartney fans.
At least a dozen people were already lined up at the Times Union Center box office by 6:30 a.m. Monday, all hoping for the chance to get a few tickets for the July 5 concert.
The doors opened at 10 a.m. as tickets were scooped up quickly. There was a bit of a sticker-shock at the window, but that didn't stop some fans from making the purchase.
"I was coming down hoping to get the $60 or $90 ticket but this is what they had and I'm not going to come out and wait in line to go home empty handed," said Julio McLaughlin of Albany.
Tickets for the concert sold out in a mere 30 minutes. The price of tickets from people we spoke to say they ranged from $99 to as much as $253 a piece.
