GLOVERSVILLE, N.Y. – Police investigating a break-in at the Getty Mart located at 394 North Main Street are asking for the public’s help in identifying two suspects.

Gloversville Police say officers were dispatched to the convenience store at 1:45 a.m. Monday, after a burglar alarm was received.

Video surveillance and witness accounts showed two suspects running from the scene, one heading southbound on the nearby rail trail.

Police say both suspects were wearing masks and gloves at the time of the break-in. During the investigation, police recovered a mask and pair of gloves on the rail trail between North Main and Foster streets.

Video surveillance showed the taller of the two suspects, who was described by police as wearing dark-colored jeans, a light-colored t-shirt, with a dark-colored tank top over it, and a backpack, burglarizing the same store alone earlier that morning at 1:09 a.m. During the first break-in, the suspect stole several packs of Newport and Marlboro brand cigarettes.

The shorter suspect was also wearing jeans and a light colored t-shirt during the second incident.

Anyone with information regarding either break-in is being asked to contact the Gloversville Police Department Detective Division at (518) 773-4505.
