On Wednesday the Albany County District Attorney released an unsealed indictment in relation to a home invasion that happened in the south end of Albany the night before 19-year-old NahCream Moore was killed.

And if this case, or these cases are one thing; they're complicated.

For the first time since Moore was shot to death by police on December 29th, Soares is able to reveal the details behind the reason cops had pinpointed the South End resident as a person of interest that night to begin with.

The D.A. says this entire story started at 44 Alexander Street in Albany.

He says on the night of Thursday, December 28th, NahCream was with a neighborhood resident named Deandre Morrison, and he says the pair allegedly committed a home invasion on the first floor of the house.

Morrison is now charged with three counts of robbery.

Soares said, "I think the police shooting was viewed in isolation of all underlying facts, and then I was cautioning both the media and public to wait until all the facts were available, because this home invasion really sets up the context for the meeting that took place later on."

The D.A. contends that the police officers on the South Pearl Street that night were advised to 'be on the lookout' for both Moore and Morrison to potentially be riding in the very the vehicle that NahCream was eventually pulled over in, and killed near on the night of the 29th.

But Soares says Morrison was not in the vehicle.

"There was an active search for the individuals involved in the home invasion, so although they are two separate incidents, the facts, and the narrative are both inextricably intertwined," the district attorney said.

And according to Soares, not only are the facts of the cases related, but so too are the actual weapons allegedly used in each.

He says NahCream was carrying the same revolver on the night he was shot and killed, that he allegedly used in the home invasion on Alexander Street along with Morrison, one night prior.

"We believe it's the same revolver described by the victims of the home invasion to be in possession of Mr. Moore, the same weapon, yes," Soares said.

The district attorney says Mr. Morrison is not facing any charges directly related to NahCream Moore's death, and is only implicated in the home invasion.

Soares went on to reveal that the victims of the home invasion at 44 Alexander Street are currently in protective custody until the end of this process.

And, for the first time, the district attorney is letting the public know about the repercussions the driver of the vehicle NahCream was riding in the night he was shot and killed is now facing.

Soares now says she received multiple vehicle and traffic violations related to the stop by police that night.

The district attorney also confirmed that the investigation into NahCream's death is progressing well, and he urged patience from the public as detectives continue their work.
