ARIZONA – The initial approval of a powdered alcohol product has been reversed by the federal government.
The Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau had given an Arizona man approval to make a new, powdered form of alcohol.
The product, called palcohol, would be poured into water and dissolves into alcohol such as rum or vodka. Mike Phillips created the palcohol, and he claimed it could have up to 60 percent alcohol by volume.
But the government agency released a statement Monday stating the approval had been taken back.
