ALBANY, N.Y. - A 23 year old man was sentenced to two concurrent State Prison terms after he drove intoxicated with two children in his vehicle.
Joseph Brennan was sentenced to 2 to 4 years in State Prison along with a concurrent Prison term of 1 to 3 years. Brennan pleaded guilty in July to Reckless Endangerment and Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated with a Child in the Vehicle.
On March 16, police say Brennan was weaving in and out of the lane on Western Avenue in Guilderland. The Albany man did not pull over and instead, led the pursuing officer on a chase trhough Crossgates Mall roadways and I-87 North.
Brennan struck another vehicle on Central Avenue, causing the driver to sustain physical injuries.
The man then took the two children, both under the age of 4, and fled on foot around the Northway Mall. Police were able to apprehend Brennan, who failed multiple field sobriety tests and was under the influence of cannabis.
