ALBANY, N.Y. – Albany City Hall saw protestors Monday who voiced their opinions about proposed red light cameras in the city.
The Albany City Council is considering installing the cameras to prevent motorists from running red lights. The protestors, however, believe the cameras are an attempt at a money grab instead of safety.
Protestors also said they were afraid the cameras would cause more accidents because drivers would slam their brakes rather than run a light and get a ticket.
New York State has given the city permission to install the cameras, but a formal decision has not been made, yet. The council is still studying the idea.
