TROY, N.Y. – Parts of Troy had downed trees and power lines due to a storm that rolled through the city.
South Lake Avenue was one area hit hard by the storm. Bill Raynor was home with his family when the storm passed through.
“I went to the window,” he said. “There was lots of wind, and I heard a loud crack.”
The loud crack was a tree snapping from its roots and crashing onto the ground near the intersection of South Lake Avenue and Rankin Avenue.
Trees also came down in the areas of Tibbits Avenue and Eldridge Court. Many residents in the area were blocked off from getting home as crews assessed the damage and tried to restore power.
