SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – Visitors to the Saratoga Race Course on Thursday got to experience another Taste of New York.
Visitors were able to sample some of the best wine the state has to offer. Wineries were handing out glasses of reds and whites all day.
This is one of the expansions of the Taste New York program, an initiative by Governor Cuomo to convince New Yorkers to buy local.
On Fridays, regional beer is featured, and on Sundays New York food is highlighted.
But on Thursday it was all about wine, where more than 50 different kinds were offered.
"My friend Jenny wanted to come taste all of the local wines today, so it's girls' day at the track for my dear friends and neighbors,” said visitor Kathy Whalen.
Wine tastings will be held every Thursday during track season, inside the new Saratoga pavilion.
