SCOTIA, N.Y. – As part of a $1.2 million project for Richmor Aviation, a groundbreaking was held Friday at the Schenectady County Airport.
A new 20 thousand square foot hangar is being built at the Schenectady County Airport to meet the growing needs of Richmor Aviation.
The company offers executive charter aircraft service with a fleet of 9 planes.
Richmor says the new space will also meet future needs of the global business aviation community associated with GE, GlobalFoundries and the College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering among others.
Schenectady County Chamber President Chuck Steiner says it's great for business. A Schenectady based construction company will be building the hangar.
"This new hangar is to take care of business growth for Richmor Aviation. There's nothing better in economic development because it's growth because of growth here in Schenectady County and in our region,” he said.
This new project will double Richmor's hangar capacity.
