CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. – Faculty and students at both Shenendehowa High School and Shaker High School will honor the two students who were killed in a car accident in December 2012 with a “Remembrance Day.”

Shenendehowa students Chris Stewart and Deanna Rivers, both 17, were killed in an accident on the Northway on December 1, 2012. Matt Hardy and Shaker High School student Bailey Wind were severely injured in the crash.

Police said the four students were leaving a sports game when a Volvo hit Stewart’s car. 24-year-old Dennis Drue was held responsible for the accident, and he is scheduled to be sentenced Thursday morning.

Drue pleaded guilty in September to all 58 counts against him for causing the Northway accident. He faces five to 15 years in prison.

Shaker students will wear green, and Shenendehowa students will wear blue in solidarity over the anniversary of the crash.

Students also wore the green and blue colors in 2012 days after the accident.
