CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. – One local family has been waiting for a special moment to take place for over a year.

Staff Sergeant Mike Olmstead was deployed to South Korea for over a year and he came home on Wednesday, about two weeks earlier than expected. Since he arrived early, he decided to surprise his young daughter in school in the morning.

Flight 3734 from Chicago arrived on time Wednesday morning and the first person to walk out was Staff Sergeant Olmstead. But before his wife Katie and oldest daughter Robyn could wrap their arms around him, the nerves were intense.

Olmstead, a military police officer for 13 years in the Army, was deployed to South Korea just after Thanksgiving 2012, amid nuclear weapons concerns surrounding North Korea. For more than 14 months, Olmstead hasn't seen his wife, Katie, or children's faces, not even electronically.

As the family picked up Olmstead's luggage and left the airport on Wednesday, there was one more surprise in store for the one family member who was not in the airport for the reunion.

The littlest Olmstead, 11-year-old Chloe, who had no idea her father, came home early.

Chloe and her 5th grade class at Arongen Elementary in Clifton Park, thought the NEW10 ABC cameras were in school to record students learning about Latin studies.

However, the cameras were all set up to watch her father slowly creep up on the unsuspecting girl.

Olmstead will be home for three weeks, he will then go to Texas for some military training exercises. Katie and his children, Chloe and Robyn, will be going with him.

Kids Educational day Variant. The true depiction of reality of their PROTECTION. Unlike the despotic politics they face daily , as in ocurrences in any below or above average family in U.S.A. Food- INFLATION, LESS PAY ( OBAMACARE (-) But also health care, (-) Fixed Income is not really fixed at the FLOOR, Ceiling- Out to Space. Astronomical Post-Secondary Student Educational Costs.) In other words , because of this father's sacrifice, he rewards from other children not only his kid.
