CAPITAL REGION, N.Y. –  On many roads, cars have been traveling at slow speeds and being cautious to not cause any accidents during Wednesday's commute.

Plow drivers have been hard at work throughout the day, and will only see more work in the afternoon as snow continues to cover the roads.

For some drivers in the storm's wrath, it was a little too much to handle after several accidents. On I-890 East, two vehicles ended up in the ditch on opposite sides of the roadway. State Police responded to the scene.

In the afternoon, residents throughout the area were shoveling out their vehicles, like Schenectady resident Destany Sabat.

"I'm trying to go food shopping and pay my cable bill. I have to shovel the car out of snow so it's going to be hard but we going to do it," Sabat explained.

Anthony Flanders, another Schenectady resident, took advantage of the snow storm by shoveling for others in order to make money.

"I usually just go around the Central Park area of Nisky area ‘cause that's where a lot of people need it a lot of old people. Ten bucks it depends if it's big you know 20," he said.

Slippery conditions didn't stop Schenectady residents from getting their high bridge pizza deliveries, though. Mark Smith was battling the elements and still trying to arrive to make his deliveries on time

"Rear wheel drive truck which isn't the best but like I said if you go slow then you shouldn't have any problems and with that I really do got to go guys we got deliveries back ok," said Smith.
