In April, Steve Caporizzo went on a puppy mill rescue, bringing home 15 dogs. After the Saturday morning rescue was made, the dogs were brought to be evaluated and checked medically, a complicated process as the dogs had been living in deplorable conditions.

You will meet Ellen, who has personally rescued over 1,000 dogs the past five years from the Amish. Her identity has been hidden, not to compromise his work. Ellen says dogs are companion animals and breeders are in it for the money, so adopt when you can!

If you would like to help out fostering, adopting or donating to help out with their medical expenses go to The Companion Animal Placement Program:

Two other groups have helped CAPP out fostering many of the dogs and have dogs as well needing homes, Dog House Adoptions and Pack Ethic:

For much more information on Puppy Mills across the country, take a look at The Humane Society of the United State's web site. A great resource of information and video investigations.
