DUANESBURG, N.Y. - Thursday's storm severely damaged the Duanesburg Ambulance Corps building.

President Jean Frisbee surveyed the damage to her all-volunteer outfit once the storm had passed. Wind and debris tore down an entire wall.

“The debris is just mind boggling,” she said. “This wall just came down intact.”

Winds increased and tossed a heavy dumpster hundreds of feet from the building.

“It’s moved a hundred yards,” Frisbee said.

No one was in the building at the time of the storm.

“Devastation,” Frisbee continued. “I mean, we would have lost folks. I just can’t imagine what took the wall right off.”

It left her speechless.

“How are we going to repair it?” she asked. “How are we going to repair it? Both the rigs – the doors are hanging on the rigs – we can’t get the rigs out.”

The building is in desperate need of repairs so first responders can return to their work.

“Bad, bad, bad,” Frisbee said. “It hurts. We got to get back in business.”
