LAKE LUZERNE, N.Y. – A teenager is dead after an accident involving a bus, say State Police.

According to authorities, the accident happened at the intersection of Thomas Road at River Road on Saturday around 12:30 p.m.

Police say a bus owned by Tubby Tubes Rafting Company was transporting 31 customers and three employees for a trip on the Hudson River. While in route, the bus overturned at the intersection.

A 15-year-old employee of Tubby Tubes was ejected from the bus during the accident and police say he died at the scene.

One customer sustained an ankle injury and was taken to Glens Falls Hospital.

According to the company’s answering machine, the business will be shut down on Sunday. All lazy river and downhill tubing and rafting trips are cancelled.

State Police say a preliminary investigation reveals the bus did have mechanical issues. However, police are still searching for more answers.
