DELMAR, N.Y. – A local teen, raising money to keep police dogs safe, has reached her goal.
Rachel Piccolino has been working to purchase new K-9 ballistic proof vests for the Albany County Sheriff’s Office three dogs.
One week ago, Piccolino raised $210 by collected money from vet’s office jars. Her goal was $3,000, which she says she reached on Tuesday.
Piccolino says “I am pleased to say that we reached our $3,000 goal online this afternoon. I am so grateful to those that have donated and spread the word about this fundraiser. The community response has been amazing.”
She is still continuing her fundraising efforts, but funds raised over $3,000 will go to other police department K-9’s in the area.
