WILTON, N.Y. – State Police are investigating a three car, personal injury accident which happened in the Town of Wilton on Saturday morning.

State Police say Troopers responded to the accident around 10:45 a.m. at the intersection of ST-9 and Ballard Road. The road had to be closed for about one hour.

According to authorities, the preliminary investigation shows that a westbound vehicle on Ballard Road may have failed to yield the right-of-way and driven through a red light. Troopers say this caused the collision with northbound and southbound vehicles in the center of the intersection.

The occupants of all three cars were taken to hospitals in Saratoga Springs, Glens Falls and Albany with a variety of injuries. State Police do not believe the injuries are serious or life-threatening.

State Police in Wilton were assisted at the scene by the Saratoga County Sheriff's Department. Fire and rescue was provided by Wilton Fire, Wilton EMS, Moreau EMS, Malta EMS and General Schuyler EMS.
