ALBANY, N.Y. - An early morning fire has displaced five people from their Rensselaer home.

Assistant Fire Chief Phil Smith said the call came in at 4:01 a.m. on Saturday. Crews responded to the 3rd Street home shortly after.

When crews arrived, they found flames coming from one window and smoke coming from the attic. The fire was contained in a bathroom, bedroom and attic area.

Five people, including a 3-year-old child are now displaced. Volunteers with the American Red Cross are providing assistance to the family.

No one was injured.

An investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.
