TROY, N.Y. – Troy Police say a raid was held this morning in a home which led to the discovery of heroin, ketamine, live ammunition, and a large amount of cash.
According to authorities, they have arrested 40-year-old Ernest Lago on Wednesday morning. Lago has been charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree for heroin and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 4th degree or ketamine.
Troy Police Captain John Cooney said the arrest was a result of an investigation with the Troy Housing Authority. He said detective conducted surveillance and participated in undercover buys to establish a search warrant at the Arnold Fallon Apartment.
Lago was not home at the time of the raid, but authorities say he was apprehended a short time later. Police say he was in possession of cash and ten bags of heroin.
Troy Police say their K-9 Obie was essential in taking Lago into custody.
According to authorities, they say 197 individual packages of heroin, 5 grams of ketamine, live ammunition, and over $3,500 cash was recovered.
