NEW SCOTLAND, N.Y. – Two teenagers have been arrested after reports of vandalism involving graffiti in the Town of New Scotland and the Village of Voorheesville.

According to Albany County Sheriff Craig Apple, three acts of vandalism appeared to be related, as the graffiti contained sexually explicit and bias wording.

Voorheesville High School contacted authorities shortly before 7 a.m. Monday after they found individuals had spray-painted the exterior of the school building and the school sign with words and images of a cat.

The second reported incident was reported Monday around 7:30 a.m. at a private residence in New Scotland. The home is owned by an employee of Voorheesville High School. The victim's personal vehicle was spray-painted with words, cat images, and graphic drawings.

Authorities say a third incident was reported about ten minutes after they responded to the New Scotland residence. The Albany County Sheriff's Office found the Voorheesville Public Library was spray-painted with cat images, a swastika, and graphic language.

According to authorities, the damaged has been estimated at over $8,000.

On Tuesday, Albany County Sheriff's arrested two teenagers. Matthew Carey-Moorly, 19, and Manny Wiest, 18, of the Town of Guilderland have been charged with Criminal Mischief 2nd, Criminal Mischief 3rd, Aggravated Harassment 1st, and Making Graffiti. Carey-Morley has also been charged with Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument in the 2nd for possessing a forged Colorado Driver's License.

The Albany County Sheriff's Office said they were able to make the arrests thanks to "similar photos and wording posted on social media sites."

Both teens have been arraigned in Town of New Scotland Court. They have been released under supervision of probation.
