Two people sent to hospital after van crash in Loudonville

LOUDONVILLE N.Y. –Two people were sent to the hospital, after a car accident that occurred in Loudonville over the weekend.

According to Colonie Police, a 2002 Chevrolet van crashed through a residential fence and into a tree on Old Niskayuna Road just after 4 p.m. Sunday evening.

Officials say Steven Struss, 61, of Troy was operating the vehicle. He had to be taken to Albany Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries preceding the crash.

Police say the passenger, 57-year-old Diane Struss, was also taken to Albany Medical Center where she is in critical condition after sustaining serious injuries from the crash.

Police remained on scene after the accident to investigate and conducted accident reconstruction.

Old Niskayuna Road was closed for nearly five hours following the accident.
