LAKE GEORGE, N.Y. – An upcoming Lake George music festival announced the names of its headliners on Tuesday.
The 2014 American Music Festival for the Lake will take place September 20 and 21. The headliners include Robert Randolph and the Family Band and local area rock group Wild Adriatic.
Dave Ehmann is the production manager of the festival.
“Really bringing a phenomenal show,” he said. “Lots of life; lots of fog; some great acts. For me, it’s all about that, and bringing it to Lake George is very important.”
Proceeds for the festival go toward SAVE Lake George Partnership.
“It’s to build public awareness and support for protecting the health of Lake George from the looming threat of aquatic invasive species,” The Fund for Lake George Executive Director Eric Siy said.
Stop Aquatic Invasives from Entering, or SAVE, Lake George Partnership formed in 2012 and has been fighting to prevent aquatic species from entering and threatening the lake’s ecosystem, which could affect water quality and property values.
“We already have five aquatic invasives in the lake,” Siy said.
“You know it’s a chain reaction, and it could just ruin the beauty of Lake George if we don’t take care of it now,” Ehmann said.
