WATERFORD, N.Y. – Two people have been arrested in connection with a snow plowing scam.

Waterford Police say that in December 2013, two homes in the town were contact by Sweet Remodeling in Gloversville. The company contacted the homeowners about removing snow from their property during the winter season.

However, authorities say that once the snow arrived, Sweet Remodeling didn't come to the homes for snow removal.

An investigation into the reports led officers to HomeAdvisor.com, which stated that Sweet Remodeling was involved in snowplowing, home repair, and painting scams.

Aarson Parker Penly, 38, and Brian Sweet, 38, have been arrested and arraigned on their charges.

Town of Waterford Police say the residents should be aware of these situations and remind people to use resources before paying money, or entering into agreements with a person or company.

Anyone else who believes they are a victim of this scam should contact Town of Waterford Police at 518-237-3341.
