Western New York storm takes the lives of four

MADISON N.Y. – According to reports coming from Madison County Sheriff's Office four people died and four homes have been destroyed in building collapses as a result of Tuesday’s severe storm.

Heavy rain and strong winds came through the western New York area knocking down trees, power lines, and damaging homes.

According to our sister station WSYR in Syracuse; more than sixty people were involved in searching for victims of the storm.

Officials last told WSYR they used police dogs to search for additional victims.

Crews will continue their search Wednesday in the Smithfield area.

National Weather Service says investigators will be in Madison County Wednesday to determine if a tornado touched down.
