JERUSALEM (AP) — Israeli police say a body has been found in the same area where a U.S. religious student disappeared last week.

Police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said authorities were in the process of identifying the body.

The body was found in the Jerusalem Forest, the same area where seminary student Aharon Sofer disappeared last week while hiking.

Authorities have been searching for Sofer, 23, of Lakewood, New Jersey.

Rosenfeld would not say whether there were any signs of foul play.
