MINEOLA, N.Y. (AP) — Suburban New York police have arrested a man on charges that he kept a woman and 15-year-old girl captive for months and forcing them to work as prostitutes.
Police say a 21-year-old woman was held for over a year. The teenager was allegedly held for about four months.
Andy Gayot, 35, was arrested Tuesday at his home. He was facing arraignment on prostitution, rape, unlawful imprisonment, weapons and drug charges Wednesday.
Police, probation officers and FBI agents went to the house because of a probation department warrant. Authorities did not immediately say why a warrant had been obtained
Police refused to say anything about the condition or whereabouts of the women.
