PHOENIX (AP) — Walmart officials said Monday that it is sending crisis counselors to the suburban Phoenix store where a man was shot to death after a fight over the weekend.
Chandler police said surveillance video showed two people getting into the fight before the shooting erupted Sunday afternoon.
Walmart spokeswoman Dianna Gee says the retailer is working with police to provide them any information they might find useful. She said the company's "thoughts and prayers are with all of those involved."
The victim was taken to a hospital after the shooting, but later died. His name hasn't been released. The shooter remained at the store briefly before fleeing. Police were later tipped to his whereabouts and were questioning him Sunday night. He was not arrested.
