Ft. Drum, N.Y. (AP) - Members of an Army helicopter unit based at Fort Drum in northern New York are now in position to help with storm recovery efforts in the Northeast.

Eight Black Hawk helicopters in the division's Combat Aviation Brigade left Wednesday for Hanscom Air Force Base, located outside Boston, according to officials with the 10th Mountain Division.

Division officials say the maneuver puts the helicopters and their crews in better for possible storm relief support in areas devastated by Sandy earlier this week.
