(13WHAM-TV) - The federal government is launching a new crackdown to stop drivers who text while driving.

The states of Massachusetts and Connecticut will split a half-million dollar grant.

The money was appropriated to better train police to spot drivers using cell phones while driving.

If the program succeeds, it could be expanded to other states.
