Troy, N.Y. (AP) - A fire battalion chief in Troy is hospitalized after he collided with another car as he was heading to a fire.

The Albany Times Union reports that Battalion Chief Ray Davis of the Troy Fire Department hit a car moments after pulling out of the fire station Saturday night.

Firefighters in vehicles driving behind Davis said the chief's SUV had lights and sirens on but the driver of the other car did not stop.

Davis and the other driver were both taken to area hospitals.

Police issued the driver of the other vehicle a ticket for failure to yield to an emergency vehicle.
