Niagara Falls, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities say a body has been found near where they've been searching for a 23-year-old college student who fell into the Niagara River below Niagara Falls.
New York State Park Police tell local media outlets that say Narang "David" Kim of Amherst and some family members and friends were walking in the Niagara Gorge around 6:30 p.m. Saturday when he slipped off some rocks and landed in the fast-moving water after leaving a marked trail. Police say he was then swept away by the current and disappeared in an area of the river known as the Whirlpool.
They reported Tuesday afternoon they were recovering a body from the river, but it wasn't initially clear if it was Kim's.
Kim is enrolled in business graduate program at the University at Buffalo.
