New York, N.Y. -- Chautauqua Airlines 6070, flying as Delta Connection to Rochester, was forced to turn around and return to Kennedy this morning.

Crew members heard a banging in the front of the plane and returned to Kennedy Airport on a report of possible blown tire.

The plane landed safely.

Upon search of the plane, workers discovered a member of the airport ground crew left their earmuffs in the front of the plane.

The plane was checked out and allowed to depart again to Rochester.
