ALBANY, N.Y. – An Albany native and professional basketball player talks about his future as a pro athlete at his annual basketball camp.
Bishop Maginn graduate Talor Battle achieved his dream of becoming a professional basketball player, though not in the way he had dreamed.
The former Penn State basketball start is playing professional ball overseas in Belgium. Battle hoped to play in the NBA after four successful years as a Nittany Lion but went undrafted in 2011.
“Everyone’s dream is to play in the NBA,” Battle said. “That was mine. I still have aspirations of getting there one day, but until I’m there, this is the step I’m taking. Like you said, I’m just trying to get better each and every year as a player to put myself I a better position to play in the NBA.
Battle said he’s resigned to play another year with his pro team in Belgium.
