ALBANY, N.Y. – A former University at Albany center accepted an assistant coaching position with his alma mater Tuesday.

Blake Metcalf joins the staff as the team’s video coordinator only a year after serving on the Saint Rose assistant coaching staff.

Metcalf explained why he chose to return to the purple and gold after just one year of coaching experience.

“One of the main things for me actually deciding to come back, the success that Albany has had recently is second-to-none in this area,” he said. “Two championships in two years speaks for itself. And I wouldn’t have come back if I didn’t see this competing for more championships.”
