SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – One of the biggest jockeys in the sport is competing at the Saratoga Race Course this season but also helping the work of a foundation.
Rosie Napravnik has broken records and barriers as one of the most successful riders in the country. She recently overtook the legendary Julie Krone as history winningest female jockey.
But Napravnik is also focused on one of her goals which is helping the work of the “Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation.”
“A place for the thoroughbreds to live,” she said. “They need food. They need vet care. They need farrier care. I mean, the costs are endless and horses live long lives.”
The “Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation” is based in Saratoga and is the world’s largest rescue for retired race horses.
