Local Teams Go 6 for 6 in Regional Semifinals

In the first day of the Regional Semifinals in baseball and softball, all six section II teams in action won.

We'll start off in baseball. In Class A, Queensbury put up 12 runs against section X's Massena. They will play Cortland on Tuesday in the regional finals.

In Class B, Schalmont pitcher Corey Musk took a no-hitter into the 5th inning. The Sabres cruised to a 10-3 victory. They'll face Ogdensburg Free Academy Tuesday.

In Class C, Voorheesville continued their Cinderella run with a 6-1 victory over Norwood-Norfolk. They’ll meet Ticonderoga in the regional final Tuesday.

In softball it was more of the same. In Class A Kaitlin Delsignor went 3 for 4 with 3 RBI's to help Troy to a 6-1 win over Jamesville-Dewitt. They will face Malone on Wednesday.

In Class B, Chatham kept their bid alive to repeat as state champs with a 12-0 shutout of Canton.

Finally, In Class C, Greenwich pitcher Sarah Heimbach struck out 12 on the way to a 4-1 victory over Ticonderoga. The Lady Witches will face St. Lawrence on Wednesday.
