The two-time defending Siena men’s basketball team has been picked to repeat as conference champions as announced Tuesday afternoon at MAAC Media Day in Manhattan.
The men, which finished with a 27-8 overall record a year ago and made a second straight appearance into the NCAA Tournament’s Second Round, garnered nine of ten first place votes and picked up 99 of a possible 100 points. Niagara meanwhile was selected second with 87 points and Rider, which earned the other first place vote, tabbed third.
Seniors Ronald Moore and Edwin Ubiles each earned Preseason All-MAAC First Team accolades on the men’s side, while junior Ryan Rossiter and senior Alex Franklin claimed Second Team honors. Rider senior Ryan Thompson was named Preseason Player of the Year.
