ALBANY, N.Y. – The University at Albany football team showed confidence about their upcoming season during a media day Tuesday.
The team went one-15 in 2013 and was winless in conference play, but there was no sign of doubt or uncertainty at media day.
Part of that might be new head coach Greg Gattuso and his staff instilling their belief in the team as the players named their goals for the new season.
“A conference championship,” Omar Osbourne said. “No doubt about that.”
“I didn’t think there’s any team in the country that trains all winter and all spring and all sum me to have any goal less than a championship, and that’s where we stand here,” Will Fiacchi said.
“Despite last year, you know, you look at Auburn when they were down, and they came up and were in the national championship game last year, so that happens and that’s what we’re trying to do,” Jake Meek said.
The Great Danes host Holy Cross in their first game on August 30.
