ORLANDO, Fla. – No one battle more than senior DJ Evans during the UAlbany men’s basketball game against the University of Florida.

“I just didn’t want to let my team down,” Evans said. “I feel like I’m a huge factor because I’m the point guard, so I just don’t wanna let my teammates down today.”

Evans got knocked down during the game, but he got back up and led the team with 21 points and seven rebounds.

“The way DJ Evans has been playing the last couple weeks is the way this team has been just fearless and not afraid of a challenge,” Coach Will Brown said.

DJ Evans and the rest of the senior class left a legacy on UAlbany including their first NCAA Tournament win, consecutive tournament appearances as well as consecutive America East championships.

The team will not be losing all of its star players. Two second team All-Conference players Peter Hooley and Sam Rowley are returning for the 2014-15 season.
