ALBANY, N.Y. – The University at Albany football team will open the Greg Gattuso era at Bob Ford Field Saturday.

The Great Danes will look to get Gattuso a win in his debut as UAlbany’s head coach. They’re also trying to get their first win on Bob Ford Field where they went 0-5 last year.

UAlbany hosts Holy Cross on Saturday. They have never played the team as a program, but Gattuso knows their coach Tom Gilmore well.

“It’s a little ironic his first game at Holy Cross was against us when I was at Duquesne, and we went up there and won a big game at Duquesne, so hopefully the outcome is the same; that we are going to win this game,” Gattuso said.

“After last season, we have all the motivation and all the push that we need to try and get this win,” senior quarterback Will Fiachhi said. “It’s a long year, and we’re excited to get back out on the field and play.”

Kick-off for the game is at 6 p.m. at Bob Ford Field.
