TROY, N.Y. – The ValleyCats were riding a four-game winning streak until their game against Connecticut Tuesday.

Even though their streak is over, the team said their confidence isn’t shaken.

“I don’t think a game like this is going to affect us really,” player A.J. Reed said. “We know we’re a good team, and we’ve been playing well, and we hit the ball well today. We played good defense. It’s just that they hit well. They hit better.”

“These games are easier,” manager Ed Romero said. “The tough ones are the 3-2, 2-1 or 1-nothing games. So we just got hit around and come back and forget about it and come back tomorrow.”

The Cats will take at least a three-game divisional lead into Jamestown Wednesday night where they’ll begin a six-game road trip.
