(SportsNetwork.com) - Baltimore Orioles third baseman Manny Machado will reportedly undergo surgery on his injured right knee in the coming week.

A Yahoo! Sports report Friday night said that the surgery will likely end Machado's season.

Machado landed on the disabled list with a right knee ligament sprain earlier this month. He fell awkwardly on his right knee during an at-bat against the Yankees on Aug. 11.

The 22-year-old Machado was an All-Star last year but missed the last week of the season after tearing a ligament in his left knee. He made his season debut this year on May 1.

Dr. Neal ElAttrache, orthopedic surgeon for the Los Angeles Dodgers, repaired Machado's left knee last fall and is expected to perform the surgery on Machado's right knee in the coming days.
