Seattle, WA (Sports Network) - The Boston Red Sox recalled outfielder Jackie Bradley, Jr. from Triple-A Pawtucket Tuesday and placed pitcher Alex Wilson on the 15-day disabled list with a sprained right thumb.

Bradley rejoins the Red Sox for his third stint of 2013 after batting .297 with 18 doubles, seven home runs and 21 RBI over 45 games at Pawtucket.

The 23-year-old outfielder, who made Boston's Opening Day roster, batted just .154 with one homer and six RBI over 19 games with the Red Sox.

Wilson sustained the thumb injury during Monday's loss to the Mariners when he gave up three runs in just 1 1/3 innings of relief work.

In 26 games for the Red Sox, Wilson has gone 1-1 with a 4.88 earned run average.

In preparation for Tuesday's tilt against the Mariners, the Red Sox also optioned pitcher Jose De La Torre to Pawtucket and recalled right-hander Brandon Workman from Pawtucket.

De La Torre was recalled by the Red Sox on Friday and gave up three runs in 1 2/3 innings of work during Monday's setback in Seattle.

Workman, the Red Sox 2012 Minor League Pitcher of the Year, combined to go 8-2 with a 3.21 ERA over 17 games (16 starts) between Boston's Double-A and Triple-A affiliates.
